A propósito del Índice: Elaborado a partir de la base de datos Cityscope del McKinsey Global Institute, que incluye 2.600 ciudades, la clasificación representa una posible perspectiva de la evolución del mundo urbano. El término ciudades se refiere a áreas metropolitanas incorporadas y agrupa ciudades vecinas en un solo centro urbano cuando corresponde.
